a note from the founder

In 2009, I opened an Etsy shop with a jumbled collection of greeting cards. It was fun, it was simple, and it made me happy.

That started me down a path of following my curiosity. Greeting cards turned into wedding stationery, which turned into custom design, which eventually led me to designing brands and websites for small businesses. For years, I felt like I was living the dream. My Instagram followers started rising, I made a few digital products that brought in some “passive” income, and I landed dream projects that made me feel like I’d finally made it. In short, I felt like one of those cool business owners I idolized.

But then I felt something new and unwanted creep in: obligation. I began to take projects because it felt like I should, no longer because I was simply curious.

And I missed my risk-taking, path-forging self. Desperately. So I stopped.

I stopped should-ing all over myself and I got back to my first love: curiosity

I gave myself permission to say no to anything that didn’t ignite a familiar spark in my soul. And I began to say a loud YES to projects that felt less “on-brand” for my “aesthetic”. (Are you rolling your eyes? Because I am.)

And now? I pick curious over cool — every time. I get to work with business owners who can’t sleep at night because they are so excited about what they’re doing. People who believe in something huge and invite me into the vision.

My curiosity also led me to other like-minded creatives. The wonderful thing about this business is that it keeps evolving into the shape I want it to be. And as of 2020, that shape looks more like a studio of other wildly talented women than just me at my computer every day. This team doesn’t just make my life easier … they make it better. More creative. More fun. More … weird. (You know, the good kind). From the first strategic note to the final word on your website, we have you covered.
