Brand OVERVIEW:

Rachel’s clients don't see themselves in their words. They have consumed too much content and gone to too many workshops to just write as they speak. They’re constantly worrying about selling, hustling, and booking and have lost their true voice.

Her photography clients don't have photos of their real life or with them in it because moms are usually in charge of all the minutiae of daily life. They want to see their actual lives. To remember how hard it was, how fun it was, and that they were there.

Green Chair Stories helps people find their voice. Rachel takes photos and writes copy that actually look and sound like them.

Brand Goal:

To create an experience focused on helping business owners find and communicate a voice that truly sounds like them.

To create a genuine and comfortable photography experience focused on capturing beautiful, ordinary moments that may otherwise be missed.

VISUAL PROBLEM + SOLUTION:

Rachel and I actually worked together on her brand and website in 2016 when her work was primarily documentary family photography. What we created then was heavily focused on the detail of the green chair, the metaphor for her work and company namesake. Since then, Rachel’s services have grown to include her first love: copywriting. Now she tells both family and business stories; all with the same level of honesty and innovation she started this business with.

Her original brand identity served her well when she was starting out, but as her business evolved, we needed to refine the look to communicate both of her services. We kept the same color story to maintain brand recognition, simplified the green chair icon, and updated typography with a customized serif font to add a bit of playfulness. The result is a well-balanced design with hand-touched details as a nod to the unique and “perfectly imperfect” stories of her clients that allows her voice to shine.
